Our Objective

Dusk is the time when most animals and sentient beings, including humans heave a sigh of relief! It is that brief moment after sunset and before night when birds return home singing and chirping! This exciting interface of light and dark is known as ‘Godhuli’ in Nepali.
In these frenzied and extremely competitive and busy times, people need many forms of entertainment, information and relaxation when they return home after a day’s hard work. Radio Godhuli has been established with the hope and dream of fulfilling this noble objective.
As we become more and more materialistic and ambitious, we are faced with more despair leading to tension and depression. As we go to sleep with the anguish of our unfinished dreams and goals, we dream of horrendous forms and shapes and wake up with even more tensions. How many days, nights, months and years will you spend thus? Radio Godhuli is the answer to this tension and anxiety!
Psychologists and psychiatrists have long proven that in order for us to enjoy peaceful sleep at night and to begin the next day with fresh mind, we must be relaxed and tension free. And even NASA has accepted that literature is one of the best ways to redress and minimise tension. It is said that NASA regularly advises its scientist, astronauts, engineers and technicians to read literature during their off times and when they are on leave. This proves that literature indeed helps people control and minimise tension. However, the literature we use should not be on a topic that generates tension!
Radio Godhuli has been conceived in keeping with this reality and in an attempt to be part of the solution to the increasing instances of tension and depression in our young people. So many of our friends, relatives, brothers and sisters are far away from home in an effort to earn their livelihood; often barely managing to make their two ends meet. The struggle, hardship and tension that they regularly face in foreign and often hostile environments are difficult to describe. Radio Godhuli’s mission is to inform and entertain Nepali youth around the world so that they are able to relieve their tensions at the end of the day. Let Radio Godhuli provide you with soothing company through its various infotainment programmes broadcast over the Internet. This is our objective!
With the help of literature including new writings and poems as well as songs and music, Radio Godhuli strives to apply balm on the tension of every literature loving Nepali. This service is not intended merely at Nepali people, but also at all individuals who understand and speak the Nepali language, including Bhutanese, Burmese, and Indians. As such, we hope that every Nepali will provide us with support – both moral as well as financial. The success of this initiative, therefore, remains in the hands of our intended audience and well wishers. Obviously, we look forward to a lot of love and support from you!
